Music Education
Music is what got Lauren through school. For a daydreamer like her, a typical classroom emphasized her weakness and made no use of her imagination. Luckily, all of Lauren’s music teachers gave her a space she could be creative and learn to grow as a person. When asked what music taught her that other subjects didn’t, she answered, “Bravery, you gotta’ be brave and confident to get up on stage. You have to pretend to feel confident even if you feel like you are going to fail. Repeating that process over and over eventually makes you brave.”
Lauren’s Music Education Journey
“I have had so many amazing instructors!” She explains, “They saw I didn’t thrive in school but welcomed me with open arms into their classrooms. They inspired me! That’s why I want to teach other people about music. A music teacher helped me, now I want to help and inspire others through music too.”

The Inspiration
The Outcome
It is my dream to tour with my music and teach in the places I stop while out on the road. These classes are meant to inspire creativity and explores different ways of channeling it into song. Music is an important part about being human and it is vital to understand how we connect with songs.
I teach these work-shops in schools and educational spaces, but these classes in songwriting can be useful in other settings such as recovery centers, celebratory gatherings, and in any setting you might find this skill valuable.
The Goal: I want to teach people to be more creative. Songwriting is a fun way to practice this skill.
In my work shops I cover:
Song structure
Different writing styles
rhyme, meter, syllable count, etc.
Chords, melody, vocal lines, instrumentals, etc.
Song analysis
